Adestra employees cycle over 360 miles for charity

June 2016, Oxford – Six Adestra employees have taken part in two long-distance charity cycling events: Ride the Night by Action for Charity and London to Paris by More Adventure. The two races covered over 360 miles and the cyclists raised a total of £3399 for five different charities.

Adestra has a long history as a service provider for the charity industry with clients such as Oxfam, NSPCC, Crisis and Historic England. Not only that, but they also support two charities every year (one local and one national) through the Adestra Gives program, by participating in and organizing fundraising events.

Ride the Night is an Action for Charity women-only night cycle ride that took place on the 28th of May, following a 100km route from Windsor into London. Aimee Howell, Julia Weller, Lisa Snuggs and Suzy Race were among the 2,000 participants spinning their wheels for three women cancer charities: Breast Cancer Care, Ovarian Cancer Action and Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust. Their team raised just shy of £1500, contributing to the total of £1.2 million raised for the event.

Calum Frampton, Director of Action for Charity & Dream Challenges, commented:

“We’ve been providing fundraising event management to charities for over 15 years and Ride the Night is definitely one of our most popular events. Thousands of women of all ages come together every year to help support the battle against cancer. As we’ve always felt that Adestra is more a partner in our email marketing rather than just a supplier, it was great to have four enthusiastic ladies support the cause.”

London to Paris is operated by More Adventure and covers 270 miles; it started at Blackheath Common on the 16th of June and ended at the Eiffel Tower in the heart of Paris four days later. Mark Stringer and Peter Rylands joined the arduous endeavor to raise money for Alzheimer Research UK and Hope for Life Katanga, respectively.

Henry Hyder-Smith, CEO at Adestra commented:

“We’ve been collaborating with charities since our early years to help them make the most of their budgets, attract long-term donors and fight deliverability issues. But apart from being a partner in their email marketing, we recognise the importance of their cause and we love to support where we can. It’s something we value as a company and we commend our employees for as well.”
