Minimise interruption to your email campaigns over the Games
The presence of millions of people flocking to London for the Games are fuelling a boom in all types of marketing and advertising. We’ve seen campaigns making reference to the Games everywhere for the last year in the run up simply because, the Olympic Games can seriously boost consumer spending. Based on research from Games in previous countries, Visa has estimated that the Games will bring an injection of 804million in consumer spending to Britain.
As email marketers you will have been planning how you can capitalise on the Games in your email campaigns for a while now. TFL have already warned us with their “Get ahead of the Games” campaign that transport is going to be disrupted and we need to start planning for that too. Whether you are working from home or making your way into the office, we’ve got many ways in which you can make sure that if you are affected by the Olympic traffic, that your carefully planned email marketing campaigns won’t be.
1. Managed Service: Let us do the hard work for you
Perhaps you’ve got tickets to an event on the day of a campaign launch or your workload has doubled due to all the Olympic based offers your company is offering. If this is the case contact us about our Managed Service. We can run the creation, design and sending of your campaign for you so you can rest assured that you’ll have the time to take advantage of the opportunities the Games are bringing.
Download our Managed Service brochure or email us for more information.
2. Scheduling: Set up your campaign launch in advance
Remember that you can always delay or schedule a launch within MessageFocus. Within the “Set up Launch” tab you can choose to launch “Now” or “At a Specified Time”. You can then specify the date and time you would like the campaign to go out meaning that your campaign will safely be launching while you’re watching Olympic Taekwondo!

Schedule the time and date you would like your campaign to launch.
3. Automation: Schedule a series of campaigns:
You might be using the Olympics as an opportunity to get away and take a break but you don’t want to miss out on the opportunity. With MessageFocus you can use the Recurring Campaign feature to create a sophisticated automatic Olympic campaign series to run in your absence.
Download our Recurring Campaigns brochure or email us for more information.
4. Expand your reach: Resend to non-openers:
Consumers are going to be on the move a lot over the Games and although most have smart phones meaning they can pick up your emails anytime, anywhere – they might not be responsive at a time when you’ve chosen to send. Retarget these non-openers with an automatic follow-up campaign. We’ve done research that suggests that this can broaden your reach by about 50%! You can do this in MessageFocus “Set up Launch” area by checking the box at the bottom of the page:

Set up an automatic follow up to non-openers on original launch.
5. Work from home: Secure your access at home
So you’re keen to work from home over the Olympics because getting to your office is going to be a nightmare! However, for security reasons your organisation are nervous because logging in from your home IP puts your data at risk of breach. Adestra can make your access at home more secure with Two Factor Authentication. Now while this sounds really fancy it is simply a hardware token (key fob) that generates a one-time passcode that is required with your username and password in order for you to login. This is entered at the same time as the account name, username and password and is specific to the individual user. Each passcode is valid for one login only and expires after 30 seconds giving you peace of mind that the risk of compromise has been lowered.
Download our Email Security Brochure or email us for more information.
With the help of Adestra and MessageFocus we’ll make sure that you don’t experience any interruptions during the Olympics. If you would like to discuss any of the above email your account manager. Also remember the support team are just a phone call away on + 44 (0) 1865 242425.
